Jio Platforms IPO: Reliance Industries-backed Jio Platforms is preparing to open its ₹30,213-crore initial public offering (IPO) on 21 October 2026. The issue will close on 23 October, giving investors three days to apply for shares in one of India’s largest digital services businesses.
The company has fixed its price band at ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share. At the upper end of the band, Jio Platforms could command a valuation of approximately ₹10.3 lakh crore, or around $108 billion. The public issue is expected to become India’s largest IPO, surpassing Hyundai Motor India’s 2024 offering.
According to the company’s prospectus and market reports, the IPO consists of a fresh issue of approximately 27 crore equity shares. There is no offer-for-sale component, meaning the proceeds from the new shares will go to the company rather than existing shareholders selling their holdings. [Source: SEBI; Business Standard]

What Does Jio Platforms Do?
Jio Platforms is the digital and technology holding company behind Reliance Jio’s telecommunications business. Its activities extend beyond mobile connectivity to include broadband, enterprise solutions, digital applications, cloud services and artificial intelligence-related technologies.
The company has built a large customer base through affordable data plans, extensive network infrastructure and bundled digital services. It is also pursuing growth opportunities in 5G, home broadband and AI-led services.
Jio Platforms had approximately 533.3 million subscribers as of June 2026. Its scale gives it access to a large market, but converting that reach into higher revenue per customer will remain important for future growth.
Revenue and Profit Show Growth
Jio Platforms reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹1,46,885 crore in FY26, up from ₹1,28,218 crore in FY25. Profit after tax rose to approximately ₹30,049 crore from ₹26,109 crore over the same period.
Its EBITDA increased to about ₹76,255 crore in FY26, while the EBITDA margin reached 51.91%. These figures indicate growth in revenue and operating earnings, although investors should also examine cash flows, debt obligations, capital expenditure and the sustainability of margins.
The IPO’s valuation is a key consideration. A strong business does not automatically make every share price attractive. Investors must compare the price being asked with the company’s earnings, future growth prospects and risks.
Key Risks Investors Should Consider
First, Jio operates in a capital-intensive industry. Network expansion, spectrum payments and technology upgrades require significant investment.
Second, competition from Bharti Airtel and other connectivity providers could affect pricing, customer retention and average revenue per user. Growth will depend partly on whether Jio can increase revenue per customer without losing its price-sensitive subscriber base.
Third, the company faces regulatory and technological risks. Changes in telecom rules, spectrum costs, data protection requirements or competition could affect its business. Its plans to expand into AI and other digital services also involve execution risks.
Finally, a valuation of approximately ₹10.3 lakh crore leaves investors with an important question: how much future growth is already reflected in the IPO price?
What Should Investors Check Before Applying?
Investors should read the red herring prospectus, review the intended use of IPO proceeds, compare Jio’s valuation with listed peers and assess their own financial goals and tolerance for loss. Strong institutional demand can attract attention, but it does not guarantee listing gains or long-term returns.
Jio Platforms offers exposure to India’s digital economy, backed by a large subscriber base and growing profits. Whether the IPO represents suitable value, however, depends on the price paid, future earnings and the risks each investor is willing to accept.
